Waiting...

38 weeks and waiting. Still no signs of baby making an arrival. Everything looks and sounds good though. Heartbeat is great, position is head down and I am feeling great.  Cydney has been talking about her baby brother more and how she is going to be my helper when he "comes home". She sees his little diapers and clothes and just says "Oh how cute".

From the ultrasound a few weeks ago.

We re-attacked Potty training with Cydney again this past week. She is doing so much better, only having accidents when she is sleeping. She is no longer scared to use the toilet and is excited to be wearing her big girl underwear everyday.  I am so proud of her for picking it up so fast this time around.

Took a trip out to the Flight Line today so Jared could take his Squadron photo which gave Cydney a chance to look at Daddy's Airplane up close.  She was so excited to see it and touch it, and kept asking Jared if he was going to fly in it right now.

Not much else going on, just anxiously awaiting any signs baby boy is ready to come. We will be sure to keep everyone updated on the events of his arrival.

Budding artist

One of Cydney's favorite things to do is to draw, paint and color.  She has started to actually draw things that we can tell what they are. Lately she has been fascinated with drawing bugs. Which is funny because she has had a fear of bugs for the last year or so.  Every night she likes to talk a walk around the block to look for Beatles and Rolly Pollies. She has even become comfortable holding them. Hopefully we are over the intense fear.

Baby Update:

Easter

Easter weekend was spent hanging out with "Crazy" Aunt Jo. Jared jokingly called Jo this one time and for Cydney it has stuck.  When we met Jo at the Airport, Cydney was so excited to see "Crazy" Aunt Jo and called her that all weekend.

Jo came to visit us for the weekend since Jared is gone for a few weeks. We went on a couple egg hunts, did some shopping and unfortunately Cydney came down with a cold. Cydney had fun spending time with Jo and is now looking forward to Grammy, PopPop and Aunt Cait to visit this weekend.

Baby boy is doing great! Still no name, have a few in mind though.  Growing right on track and moving around a lot!  I go for another ultrasound in two weeks, excited to see him again. Things are pretty much ready for his arrival in approximately 7 1/2 weeks. This pregnancy has really gone by fast and I am thankful for no problems or concerns.

Puzzles and Cowboy Hats

Cydney working on her Mickey Mouse Puzzle

Lately Cydney has been working  hard learning to do her puzzles on her own, she likes doing this Mickey one the best.  She has also always liked hats, she recently received one from Grandma Jack and has been wearing it around non stop. She calls it a cowboy hat always giving a "Yee Haw" when taking it off.  Many nights after I put her to bed I hear her get up and play for a few minutes. I usually find her asleep with the hat on when I check on her before going to bed.

She has also started going to day care. She seems to like it a little bit, getting better by the day.   She likes her teachers, but not too fond of other kids bothering her.

Home Improvements

We have been busy with home improvement projects the last week.  There were a few things we wanted Jared to get done before he left on his deployment, such as painting the garage, building shelving for the storage room in the basement and installing a water softener.  He took a week off work and advantage of nice weather to complete these projects before leaving.

The garage project was a big undertaking and took him about 4 days to prime and paint the garage.  We are really happy with the outcome  and think the garage looks much better.

Before

After

In order to finish unpacking and organizing we needed more shelving, so Jared built some to put into the "cold storage" room in the basement. Nice work! He was pretty excited about the new tools he needed to buy in order to complete the projects.

Now I can officially say we are unpacked! YAY!!

We also celebrated his 30th Birthday! Just the three of us. Cydney decorated him a cake and we ate a nice home cooked Thai meal.

Settling in

The past two weeks I have been busy unpacking boxes and finding a home for everything.  We had a lot more stuff than I remember having! I am not sure how it all fit into our small Japanese home, much less where I was going to put it in this one.

One day in the mail I got a flyer from Big Brothers Big Sisters looking for donations of clothing, household items, electronics, etc. The organization will be sending a truck through our neighborhood this Friday and will pick up anything we have sitting out on the curb marked with BBBS for donations. Great, I have tons of things to give away that are perfectly useable just not needed for us anymore. Them picking everything up is perfect, with Jared being gone, I won't have to worry about hauling it all away somewhere on my own.  So I rounded up 8 large boxes and a couple small furniture items for them.

The house is coming together, still have pictures to hang and a couple rooms to finish decorating. One being the baby room.  Now that we know the gender I can start shopping for bedding and anything "boy" related we will need.

We have met a few of the neighbors, they all have older kids and have offered to be available for babysitting, lawn care, anything I need in the event Jared is gone.  It is great to meet these nice people and I look forward to getting to know them better over the next couple of years. We have also met a couple of families from the squadron, one has a little boy Cydney's age and was gracious enough to watch Cydney a couple days this week while I went to doctors appointments and job interviews.  Cydney has made a new friend and is excited to be able to play with him more.

Cydney enjoys running around the house, up and down the stairs, and scattering toys throughout while I try and get things picked up and put away.  She has also enjoying playing in the backyard. When the sellers sold us the house they included the trampoline. I was not too sure about keeping it, and figured we could just sell it at some point. Cydney seems to enjoy it though, so it may be staying with us at least for now.

Baby is doing great and growing right on track.  All looks good. Still trying to find a name we like, it is harder for us to find a boy name for some reason. We chose Cydney within a couple weeks of finding out I was pregnant.  We had been in Sydney, Austrailia when we found out and loved the name. This time were were in Vegas when we found out, but I am not to fond of naming a child Vegas, so we have to come up with something else. :)

24 Weeks! It's a.....

Went in for my 24 week checkup on Monday and to meet my new doctor. All is going well with baby, growing right on track and very active.  I have been feeling great, trying not to push it too much getting moved in and everything unpacked.

Today we went in for the anatomy scan and gender reveal.  Cydney was able to go as well, she was very interested in watching the screen as the doctor performed the Ultrasound.  We asked Cydney if she could see the baby, she responded "No it's a monster."  Getting started name calling already!

So the big news everyone has been waiting.  We are having a.....

BOY!

We are very excited and happy to be adding a boy to the family.

Cydney is having a lot of fun in the new house, opening all her toys and books have been very exciting for her.  She recently found and pair of earplugs and some stickers and immediately put them in.  She wore these around the house most of the day yesterday.
